چکیده
Background: Inguinal hernia repair is among the most frequent elective or emergency opera-tions performed in general surgical practice. Lichtenstein considered gold standard for managing such cases. Postoperative complications especially post-surgical chronic groin pain stands still as a very disabling complication. In this study, we investigated postoperative on 2 different types of meshes.Materials and Methods: This retrospective study evaluating results open hernior-rhaphy with self gripping mesh regular prolene mesh. Patients included that was male aged 18-65 years, which presented unilateral inguinal were favorable tension-free herniorrhaphy using mesh. Results: The median duration operation 44.6 m ± 6.1 Group-1 24.6 5.4 Group-2, significantly shorter than (p< 0.001). hospital stay patients 1 day no statistically significant difference has detected between groups. At follow-up third month, rate complaints mild % 11.1 vs none Group-2(p˂0.05). No recurrence been both groups after 8.4 months follow-up.Conclusions: Our experience lightwight self-gripping demonstrates material safe effective matters promising prohibiting pain.Key Words: Tension-free herniorrhaphy, fixation,

Introduction: Chronic groin pain is both a topical subject and important outcome measurement following inguinal hernia repair. It has been suggested its incidence is related to the management of the nerves of the inguinal canal as well as the type of mesh used and methods of fixation for both open and laparoscopic surgery. The level of pre-operative and post operative pain, its duration as well...

INTRODUCTION Compared with open surgery, laparoscopic groin hernia repair has been shown to significantly reduce postoperative pain. However, chronic pain remains a problem with the laparoscopic approach, affecting approximately 10% of patients. The purpose of this study was to evaluate clinical outcomes following the use of Parietex ProGrip™ (Covidien, Dublin, Ireland) self-gripping mesh durin...
